Description Here my restoration of Archaeoceratops, one of best known chinese not-ceratopsid neoceratopsians. This is a sort of staminal one between the two species (A. oshimai and A. yujingzensis, that then they differ mostly due to teeth differences). Nowadays Archaeoceratops is still a synonym of Archaeoceratopsidae, so the two species could be split in order to make more effective this type of subdivision (like Psittacosauridae and all the species of Psittacosaurus, recalling that now Hongshanosaurus has been synonymized with P. lujiatunensis). Anyway, this is one of the first drawings I've ever done, and I chosen colors that would suit the rocky/semi-desertic environment of Ximnibao.
Body silhouette is mainly based on Hartman's skeletal here: www.skeletaldrawing.com/ornith…
