The model, photograph, and setting are appealing. However, the clarity and vibrancy of the image seem to be lacking. It seems like your exposure was too high or you got excited with white-balance during post-production.

The model has beautiful eyes and an innocent smile, I think the photograph would be improved if those aspects were enhanced. I would especially like to see her eyes brought out more. That is typically where we look when we see an image of a person and this particular image seems to focus on the models facial expression for artistic value.

While the image does have a slight vintage appeal, it comes across more bland than wow. It doesn't pop off of the computer screen like it could. I think photography-wise the image is fantastic, just be careful about post-production.

I usually keep an original version of the image to reference what the photograph looked like directly from the camera. That gives me an idea of when I've gone too far with my editing--it happens easily when you don't have a reference point. Other than that, looks great. Well it does depend on what program you're using for post-production. I use photoshop and I can use masks to edit specific areas and adjustment layers to up the saturation to brighten the colors of an image in that specific area.

I find the best way to learn new techniques for photo editing is good-old Google.

Thank you.

Was going for the vintage look here, not pulling it off too well I see. Any tips on how to create "wow vintage"?

Funny you say that about her eyes, I really don't know how to get them to "pop" like you see in a lot of good portrait work.

Thanks again for the great feed back, it's much appreciated.

Great shot. I prefer this over V1 too. Softer, warmer, generally more appealing. Nice work.

Very interesting. I like the original, personally: it plays to the sharpness that's a strength of your Canon.

This version has definite charm, though. What transformations did you apply between the original and "V2"?

Well actually I cheated and just used the Vintage preset on Aperture. Then I tweaked a few things like the white balance Temp (slightly warmer) and tint (up a little), edge sharpen and highlight adjustment. It was a quick adjustment but got the result I was after, sort of.
