Here is my friend Steve and I. Steve usually dresses as Jack Sparrow for Renaissance Faires and Festivals, but since we were both working a booth this particular weekend, he donned his newly made Sweeny Todd outfit, and I slapped together a Mrs. Lovett! We had much fun enticing unsuspecting customers to our booth for a meat pie.

We were helping a friend of ours run his Jewelry/BellyDancer-wear booth at a Renaissance Faire. Our costumes made no sense in that time period of course, but that didn't stop people from finding us amusing

Haha, indeed! A sexy Depp character is always good. And thank you! My hair isn't blue anymore, but I am thinking of getting a Mrs. Lovett/Belatrix LeStrange style perm...oh the possibilities!

Well I go to alot of Renaissance faires and stuff, and I used to act, so I have a good idea of how to put costumes together. A few of my friends make/sell great stuff at the fairs, but you'd be surprised what you can find in a cheep clothing store that is costume worthy with a little altering.

true true. i know in vintage stores and second hand places (like Good will) and stuff people have put together some great Sweeney Todd and other cosplays using just stuff from there

When I do it I intend to have pictures up EVERYWHERE and I will be showing them off every chance I get. It will be, and that is why I might not be able to do the cosplay for a long time, especially since I have a a few other cosplays that I am working on at the same time. Ideally I want to debut them all at a local four day long convention in the spring of 2010, but then fall of the same year I need different cosplays for a different convention in a different part of the country. In general, money is tight with me for now. When I get any of my cosplays finished then I will have my photography buddies take pictures and I will add them to my modeling portfolio as well as put them on DeviantArt, so just you wait, Pirelli is one of my goals.

Do you have any friends that sew, or do any sewing yourself? Steve basically made his whole costume himself, and I put mine together from a bunch of skirts and old dresses I had in my closet. Of course it's not Mrs. Lovetts actual outfit, which I'd love to put together if I did this more often. I'll bet you can find a cheeper way to make a Pirelli outfit!

I sew, and I would make it myself, but buying fabric could get expensive, also finding patters that would work would be difficult. Or maybe I am just making things more complicated then they really are, I might just end up making a kickass cosplay overnight. I just need the money to buy the stuff.

True that. Never underestimate the power of a thrift store! The might be a cool coat that you can add stuff to.
