So... this took bloody ages and to be honest I'm quite disappointed in the final product. It just feels... empty somehow.But I am quite proud of a few places in the picture, like the whale shark and the girl in the foreground
Also, in case you can't make it out, the book she's reading is '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea', hence the sea creatures.
I originally planned to have more but just ran out of time:T
So I hope someone likes this

It doesn't look empty, but I understand the feeling - whenever I paint environments, I always look at the finished artwork and feel like it's just plain and boring with little detail >.>

You're right the books did take ages! And I remember just feeling so relieved when the whole picture was finished, I was under a lot of pressure to get it finished.
Unfortunately that meant it was rushed and not done as well as I'd have hoped.
I think the empty feeling came from the fact that I had planned for a lot more sea creatures to be in it, but just ran out of time
