Paper Mario/Mario Story sprites for Lubba, a rather large Luma from Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Once again (or for the "first" time), Bowser made enemies of an interstellar captain, wrecking Lubba's ship and sending many of his fellow Lumas overboard. Despite this, Lubba stayed optimistic, especially when Mario boarded the currently wreckage. Following Lubba's command, the Lumas transformed the ship into the Starship Mario, and Lubba let Mario take the while. Throughout the adventure, Lubba tended to crack simple jokes about various things, such as the species Mario brought onto the Starship, the time of day, and even specific thresholds of Power Stars. Lubba maintained this consistency throughout, which would make him the Mushroom Universe's king of wisecracks in that regard. Even Lubba, though, bows to Rosalina, who he seems to have met before.

Lubba got a few more appearances within the Mario series itself and Smash. For the former, he appears in some of Rosalina's poses for Mario Golf World Tour and Mario Sports Superstars. For the latter, meanwhile, he's a trophy in Super Smash Bros for Wii U, cameoing in the Mario Galaxy stage throughout the series, and was forced into a spirit form where he lingered on in a giant clone of Kirby.
