Question: Even though a new reference sheet has been made for these guys and I like both but would it be ok to still make one that's based of of these ones? (New to Flowerverce).

They are pretty similar in appearance, though, but as long as they have a total of at least 6 limbs (with 2 wings), they are griffons ! Send me a link to your character once its done !

Your griffons seem like a really interesting species The individuals portrayed in the sheet are adorable, and their colourful plumage makes them look like tropical birds, but the information of their sheet poses many questions about their species story. Are you planning to tell or reveal that story in some way? Because I would be very interested on it.

Oh wow ! I didn't think anyone would look further !
I didn't think about it, but sure ! I'll develop the story further. I hope people will do OCs of them.
Let me think about it, and I'll try !
Maybe it will be about them being excluded by others because they were believed to bring bad luck....... Maybe not.

Well, as I have said before, your depiction of griffons is very original and creative, as these creatures are often represented as noble and fierce beings, but yours are so colourful and vibrant that they do resemble songbirds more than anything else. It is rather nice to see mythological creatures like griffons (which are, basically, hybrids of felines and birds), approached from such a different perspective.

I also think that the concept of a species is an excellent starting point for creating stories, as there are so many aspects about them you can explore: their culture, their history, their relathionships they establish between themselves and with members of other species... All these aspects make prime material for writing a good story, in my opinion.

However, don't feel obligated to work on their backstory just because I showed interest on them. Do it if you think that it is a worthy project.

Aw, thank you ! Your kind comments really are motivating me ^^
And don't worry, creating is actually fun ! I still have to draw the stuff though.

They DO value looking noble and fierce, the most respected members of their society are, but most aren't like that. I'm thinking about doing a Necropossum (or Jackal) hybrid that might particularly like speaking in riddles.

Another thing I have just realized: the reference sheet does not indicate how their size may vary from one Griffon to the next, nor shows the minimal and maximal sizes of this species. Maybe you should add that piece of information, as it would result greatly useful for anyone looking forward creating their own Griffon to know how much they can grow.
