I Ching, the sign 24 Fu The Return

"Running, walking. Going to the city (where one often goes to settle one's business).
Extended sense: to go where one has gone before, returning for the second time,
repetition" (Wieger, p. 195 ).

"Idea of return, returning, responding, restoring, from new, etc."
"Return." (Philastre, p.392)

"On the left, with the left foot, advance one step.
On the right the tower, the wall of an ancient city
below: the man walks"

"This ancient city has a double rampart with two opposite gates, each of which is surmounted by a tower:
It gives the image of the earthly space, which time will stamp with its seal, because space and time are connected
are interconnected like the threads of a network.
The left foot corresponds to the Yang, the sky in the Chinese tradition. It goes here to the ancient city.

The Book of Changes states:
"At the winter solstice, the city gates are closed,
Merchants and travelers do not wander about.... "
"... one goes inside and performs the monthly purification "

Close the doors, meditate, rest, gather new strength.

24 Fu is one of the 12 month hexagrams in the I-Ging, the Book of Changes and
as a monthly sign, it represents the month of the Rat (December-January).

The I Ching advises not to travel during the change of years.
