Any reason you have to not bind is just as valid! I used to bind more often but it only made me more dysphoric when ppl would misgender me anyway (as in, I actually put the effort in "passing" as much as i can and it still doesn't work) so i don't feel like trying most of the time now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ only when i'm having an extra bad dysphoria day.

i mean, technically yeah, but how will people cope with their dysphoria..?

DesDraws In reply to Herowebcomics [2019-01-08 12:43:53 +0000 UTC]
I mean.. yeah? But there are reasons people bind and so if someone wants and is able to bind they should do so as safely as possible.

Herowebcomics In reply to DesDraws [2019-01-08 16:47:46 +0000 UTC]
There are reasons, but none of them are good.
They are trying to hide things that don't need to be hidden!

DesDraws In reply to Herowebcomics [2019-01-08 17:11:32 +0000 UTC]
That's up for the individual to decide, and I'd much rather support someone in binding safely than prevent them completely from doing it when they want to.

True, but some people choose wrong.
Not all breasts are going to look like they do in the music videos!
Thoes that do not should not be hidden, they should be celebrated as unique!

DesDraws In reply to Herowebcomics [2019-01-09 16:12:21 +0000 UTC]
People don't bind because their chest "doesn't look like in music videos", we bind to alleviate dysphoria, or just to reach a more masculine/androgynous presentation that's to our liking. This is also a uniqueness that deserves to be celebrated, and you have absolutely no say in whether people should bind or not.

So you meant trans women then? This is a stamp specifically for people who bind (or want to bind), sorry. And anyway, I don't know as much about breast forms/inserts as I do about binding, so I'd rather leave that talk to trans women and transfeminine folk in general instead.

I recently purchased two of my first ever binders from gc2b. I got two half ones with a nice discount during Pride Month, and they're absolutely amazing. Very comfortable with little to no discomfort, and my chest looks fully flat, almost like male pecs even. I'm small chested, so the binders had no problem flattening them down. I can finally wear thin and breathable shirts without feeling self conscious about my chest, which is especially nice during the summer in Florida (it's too damn hot down here for heavier shirts in the summer). The longest I ever wore mine was for 12 hours, and I took a long break from wearing it again after that. I never wear it while casually at home, but I do put it on anytime I leave the house, and immediately take it off once I'm back home.
It's nice temporary relief, and a step forward towards a healthier mindset and self-love. I still struggle with seeing my chest once the binder comes off, and still experience physical dysphoria/frustration when dressing myself or showering, but I'm remaining optimistic as I move forward. With the binders, and maybe even potential hormones and top surgery on the way, I have finally been able to feel somewhat confident in my own body.

Thank you very much for sharing your experience with binding! It's so nice to read about other people starting to feel better about themselves, and I'm glad that you do so safely!
I have been happier than I'd been in years while binding, and while, like you said, it's more of a temporary relief, I'm grateful for the comfort it brings. I'm a DD and while binding doesn't make me completely flat, with a slightly baggy shirt I have been "mistaken" for a boy a couple times, so I'm taking that as a good sign!
I don't really go outside much during summer, which means long breaks in between binding (sometimes even a week or more), so I sometimes just wear it around the house for a couple hours and it's all really nice! :'0
Anyway I'm just rambling here, hahah. Once again, thank you for commenting here, and I hope you have a great day!! ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

You're welcome, and thank you for creating this! Yup, safety and health are key with these kinds of things.
That's awesome, I'm glad your binding experience has made you happy, too! That is definitely a good sign, especially if you're DD. I've read how those things can be harder for larger chested people, so kudos to you! As long as you're happy. ^^
I don't go out much either, but this summer I had a couple of events happen during my birthday week, so I was very happy to get to use my binder during those times. My binder compresses my chest, but is actually loose where it stops towards, so I had a bit of ventilation in the heat.
That's really cool! When I first got mine, I wore it around the house for a few hours, too. ;u;
Hahah, no worries, I completely understand! I do the same when I'm really into a conversation. You're welcome, and you too! ^^)/
