Dragon*Con 2010Ben10 fanboy squees over Batman. If Batman weren't too epic to fanboy squee, i'm sure he'd do the same to Ben. Batman is just fanboy squee-ing on the inside.

Now that's epic. I'm not very talented when it comes to wig styling; I can do a bit but not much (I make my sister do the harder stuff!). Even since I got deeper into cosplay, I've kept my hair short. It's easier to deal with the wigs that way, and I can just use my real hair for Haruhi and Ben.

Oh, and a little tip in case you're planning to make a ben10 jacket: I've seen several Ben10 cosplayers with jackets made of green pleather...it seems like it SHOULD be that way, what with lettermen's jackets and all, but for the record, even when the jacket is well made,the over all effect of the material really makes the jacket look cheap and unimpressive...
Save yourself the trouble of wrestling with that material and don't go with the pleather

Thanks for the tip~ You know, I never thought of Ben's jacket as being leather; it just never gave me that impression. And then when Alien Swarm came out and his jacket was all shiny, I got so confused. >< But I don't really think Ben would wear leather or pleather. I mean, his jeans and shirt are loose fitting and he wears converse -- Ben likes to be comfortable; so I think his jacket is cotton (or something else that's comfy).

Yeah, that Alien Swarm movie...ugh. The cast was awful, the costumes were mediocre...you saw how bad the jacket looked...yick. I prefer to deny the movie ever existed...*shudder*
Definitely more of a lighter exercise jacket, not leather or pleather. I ran into a guy at D*Con on the last day, one of his buddies worked for Cartoon Network and we chatted for a few minutes. He wasn't trying to cosplay Ben, he had tattered jeans on and just some tennis shoes, and a white shirt under a ben10 jacket. It looked like just a light, breathable sports jacket, nice and comfortable and simple. Even thought the rest of his outfit didn't match up (Like I said, he even told me he wasn't trying to cosplay Ben, he just liked the jacket), the workmanship and material of the jacket worked so well that it was instantly recognizable.

There were only about 2 parts I liked in that whole movie (and of course they're both Ben lines). The movie as a whole wasn't done well at all. I mean, I appreciate their hard work and all, but they could have played more to the fans. The most annoying part of it was Max. What were they thinking?! *facedesk*

Just observations of fact, not intending to come across as trying to hit on you or anything
I can see that you have a very nice, distinctively curvy figure, and are on the busty side.
That jacket you linked me to was made for an adult male. It would look very strange on a person with your figure. 
No offense, the more I look at that jacket, then more I'm thinking it won't do you any justice 
I'd strongly recommend looking into commissioning someone for the jacket if you really want your Ben10 cosplay to be outstanding. 
I hope I have not offended! I'm certainly not trying to. Like I said, if you're interested, I'd be happy to get in touch with my friend to see if she'd be willing to take a commission. She's talented and trustworthy. I've known her for two years, and she won't disappoint!

I dunno, that's a pretty shapeless jacket...You could probably do a lot better than that...the collar is all wrong, I don't know what's going on with the sleeve lengths...yes, the 10 IS embroidered into it, I do like that, but that price is ridiculous...
You'd be much better off commissioning someone who knows what they're doing to make the jacket. If you'd like, I can ask my friend who made the Ben10 jacket in the photo if she'd be willing to take a commission on it. She's very talented and very reasonable, and as you can see, she does good, quality work that she takes a lot of pride in

And don't worry, I'm not offended at all. I crossplay a lot more than cosplay. lol (Just because I haven't found many female characters that I like enough to cosplay.) Binding hasn't been too much of a trouble so far. The two picture I have up of my Ben cosplay I didn't really even bind for. It was a lazy day. ^^'

I only looked at that main photo, and the angle made you look more busty than you actually are, so I can see you're probably close to my size, so I can see binding WOULD help in crossplay

And yeah, I can see someone paying $50 for a jacket, especially a commission (I dont know what Sam charges, but whatever it is, she's worth it), but a commission puts in that extra work so it's custom tailored to YOU, and you're paying for all the details to be carried out correctly. That ebay jacket is...no. That's just settling for something that comes somewhere in the ballpark of what you want. It's not outstanding in any way
