You guessed right! :> Her mother Deshiba comes from Iwagakure, and Mia inherited her mother clan's eyes (nothing special, just the shape), although she awoke the Byakugan at the age of 12.
And as you can see the colors in her clothes match with Iwa's uniform, as a reference to Deshiba's roots
