They both knew this day had been coming. It was bound to happen sooner or later, but neither of them were really ready for it. For a long time, T-Bone had been slowly growing up. She had first noticed that her legs were getting a lot longer. Her tail had started to grow too. Though she would tell herself it wasn't as much as it really was, both she, and Paisley, her mama, could tell T-Bone was having more than just a little growth spurt. She used to be able to climb on her mama, and play in her mane and curl up there for naps. Now, she was almost as big and strong as her. Where she used to nuzzle herself in her mama's fur, At night, T-Bone could only rest her head on. As she grew, her mama taught her how to hunt, and how to fight. She could defend herself, and her territory if she had to now. No matter how much they didn't want to admit it, T-Bone was a young adult now.

Each day, Her mama made sure to practice with her. She wanted to be sure that T-Bone would be alright on her own. Even when T-Bone thought she was ready, Her mama kept her with her a little longer, just to be sure. Still, the time finally came though, that neither of them could deny that T-Bone could take care of herself. She was ready to finally leave her mama's side, and go and defend her own territory.

The sun had barely begun to rise, but the two quads were awake in their cave. Paisley still wasn't sure if T-Bone should go. It was winter, and the ground was covered in snow. Winter was dangerous, and could be too hard for any wyngro. The harsh conditions, added to the risk of low prey, other gros, and even spites could end up being too much for anyone. T-Bone was sure she would be alright though, and insisted that it was time. If her mama could take care of the two of them, she would manage on her own too. She made a soft chirping noise to try and reassure the grey quad. She wanted her mama to know that she would come back and visit. She wouldn't go away forever. Still, Paisley just nuzzled her back, and booped the young quad's cheek to try and tell her how much she loved her.

T-Bone smiled back, and booped her mama's cheek. She could still remember when the two of them had first met. They weren't the most normal family, but they were enough for each other. They loved each other, and had come to this naturally. Two gros, both lonelier than they realized, stumbling upon each other and bettering because of it. After all this time, they were going separate ways.

As the sun rose higher, they both knew if T-Bone was going to go, she would need to go now. She would need the daylight to go find a place for shelter, and then to give her time to hunt before dark. Both with tears in their eyes, Paisley booped T-Bone's head one last time, before T-Bone turned and did the same back. She nuzzled into her fur quickly, before saying the sentence she had been practicing.

"Bye Mama, I love you." T-Bone's voice shook as she spoke. She slowly pulled away, and smiled before turning to leave the cave. The sun hit her, and warmed her a little as she stepped into the snow. T-Bone would always love, and be grateful to her mama, but it was her time now. She was ready to face the next step in her life.

Woot! T-Bone is a big girl now! Since things have happened, I had to change a few plans of mine, but it all worked out. I wanted to do one last picture with T-Bone, and her mama. I have loved Paisley in T-Bone's life, and I will forever think they are adorable together. So one last hurrah for their little family was needed. Get ready for more T-Bone plot very soon!
