Oh my, thanks a LOT for the sweet comment, this made my day! I'm so glad that there's someone else shipping these two, to be honest I've been really hoping to meet some once the the remake of Gen4 will be out xD

I have several ships, but this one is definetely my favorite! I have kind of left the Steven/Cynthia since a while, I still like them, and don't get me wrong, I love Steven, but I get the feeling that Cynthia wouldn't like someone who is so....immature? I mean, he doesn't seem to take his job super seriously (leaving it to Wallace, and in ORAS SIdney is looking for him to bring him back to work xD) and when a problem appears, he has to call daddy (even in the manga, it's mr. Stone the one who thankfully covers both plan A and plan B....and if Steven needs daddy for the most laughable villain teams, I can't even imagine him against the others). Plus, as I noticed from RPs, a relationship with him grows kind of stale...I mean, "happily ever after" is sure nice, but I like some conflict and drama too xD

Thanks for all the compliments about the artwork, I have time only for quick doodles for fanart as of lately, so it makes me really happy to know they still look good! So yeah, thanks a lot! ♥

Indeed! The anime did an absolute horrible job, but at least the manga and games could have expanded on it...I'm really really hoping that a possible future remake will cover that (and that means there should be an extra episode for the manga, too!). I kind of have the feeling that Cyrus had a childhood of abuse or something similar (his grandpa even mentions that things may have gone different, if he took him away to live with him), and in the manga I was surprised to actually see him cry, concerned for the future of our world. So yes, I'd really love to know more about his backstory to be honest ;v; Ahah, I have the same headcanon! They both probably went away from home early, during childhood/early teens, and I imagine them having met at the Canalave Library, or somewhere similar c,:

Gawd, yes, a remake would be AWESOME! I thought the new editions are going to be DPP remakes, because Cynthia and Cyrus names both represent Sun and Moon, but meh...I'd love to see them both in updated graphics. ;A;

Yeah, it's slightly implicated that he probably had a reaally rough childhood. There was something about his parents and that they never accepted him the way he was. I mean, he wants to create a world without emotions, this is so sad. And Cynthia bursts of emotions, that makes the ship so interesting. What causes a person to think like Cyrus? Personally I like to headcanon that he had trouble with his early social life and he also had a mentally and physically abusive mother, that's why he has difficulties to let Cynthia go near/touch him because she's soo motherly. Although she doesn't want to hurt him, because he's so broken and traumatized, Cynthia would be the only person who might be capable of understanding his motives. Agh, so many things have been left open for interpretation but on the other hand we can make tons of headcanons, haha. <3 If you ever have some interesting thoughts, I'd love to hear them as well!
Also I heard Cyrus is waaay more different in the manga. I haven't read it, but maybe I really should do it. D: Curiousity kills the owl.

I really hope we get one soon! If they follow the usual schedule, usually a remake comes out about an year after the newest generation so...keeping my fingers crossed! And I know right? I was convinced there would have been some sort of reference to them, given the sun/moon parallel! I can only hope they will have a cameo, since Steven did have one in Gen6 ;v;
(I only hope they won't go and completely redo their designs...I mean, did you see what happened to team Aqua/Magma? Completely different, goodness, I just can't bring myself to consider them as the same people/characters xD)

Steven does have his charm (mostly his looks, and the fact he's much friendlier than other male champions I guess?), but yes, after much thought, good friends with Cynthia definetely, but I don't think they would last much together c,: I imagine them being adventure buddies, they'd like to see similar places given how Cynthia loves archeology, and Steven is obsessed with rocks xD

Yes, I think he's the only Pokemon villain I have some sort of sympathy towards...the others are just plain cruel/power-thirsty, but his motives and goals are just very sad, he must have experienced something horrible and be also a sensitive person, to be broken to that point. (I actually read once a theory about how, since he was able to sense Giratina's wrath way before it showed up in Platinum, he may be empathic, and hating being constantly "bombarded" by the emotions of those around him...but it's probably a bit farfetched of a theory xP)
I always thought of his parents as either very abusive, or that kind of rich parents that are barely home and when they are, just verbally abuse of him because he's not enough, without any affection. And then yes, probably his social life at school and such wasn't the best, maybe to the point of being considered a freak/bully-target by others. Also something may have happened concerning Pokemon...he doesn't consider them nor as friends, but not tools either, he says he's no trainer, yet in the manga he was able to defeat Cynthia (that shocked me to be honest xD)...but I have this silly headcanon that he actually likes canine Pokemon xD Because in the card expansion, all of Cyrus' cards include his game team + some legendaries (the obvious, like Palkia and Dialga, but also Darkrai), but he also owns the majority of dog Pokemon, like Houndoom, Manectric, Arcanine and Absol xD
I actually really agree with your headcanon, it makes a lot of sense of how he acts with Cynthia too! I too think he despises/is afraid of affection in general, so not just emotions but also touch.
But yeah, while it is frustrating not knowing much about a character, it's also very cool having the freedom to just headcanon as much as you wish xD

About the manga, Pokemon Special, I actually read it only to the start of the Hoenn saga, but I've read some snippets I was interested in of the Sinnoh saga, and my sister has read it all so she passes on information to me xD From what I saw, he's not THAT different, but every media has its own different interpretaton.

But yes, you should give it a shot! Pokemon Special is a good manga, way better than the anime, and Satoshi Tajiri even dubbed it as the official Pokemon manga, and how the game world would be in real life, so it's pretty much canon c:

I really hope so. ;A; I think I have read somewhere that Cynthia will definitely make a confirmed cameo in Sun and Moon, so...at least the queen will be there for us. <3 Yeah, the new designs were kinda unexpected, though I liked them somehow because they looked more accurate. Maybe it was because it's been years since I have played Ruby/Sapphire and couldn't remember the Team's appearence anyway. But yes, they really shouldn't change too much for Team Galactic. :c Maybe an overhaul of the outfits, but no changing in hair color or something (like they did with Team Aqua's Shelly...). Also which new version are you going to have? Sun or Moon or both? OvO

Yeah, same. o.o He's more like one of these tragic anti-heros who wants to make a better world but in a very twisted way which would result in the destruction of the universe. And then we have Cynthia who's assumed to be some kind of protector of Sinnoh as a counterpart to him. Also the theory is quite interesting. Might sounds weird but I always thought Giratina and Cyrus could have somthing similar in common, since Giratina is a creature which was banned to another dimension because of her 'crimes' while Cyrus feels marginalized by the world around him. In the game she appears just because Cyrus caused an imabalance of space and time, but Giratina is just so mysterious. In my AU she represents the evil/darkness which lingers in every human heart and Giratina has watched over Cyrus since he was child with a heart full of dark emotions. Also I have read that he touched Mesprit when he was little and lost all his emotions then? Not sure if this was from the manga or something. But it's really creepy though. o.o

Gawd, the grandfather is to blame that he didn't help him. D: Oh yeah, that "Pokemon are no friends but no tools either" really confused me as well, since he also has a Crobat. But nah, somehow I think he talks too much because he wants to intimidate others, haha. I mean, he definitely has emotions, at least they came up in Platinum in the World of Distortion.

Aw, yeah I like that canine headcanon! Cyrus also has a Charizard if I'm not confused? I made a small headcanon out of it, that he once had a (female) charmander as a partner when he was a student at University of Hearthome. The Charmander was from a shelter and mutilated, only had one leg but she always sat on Cyrus' bicycle handlebar when he drove through the streets, especially at night so it would illuminate the bicycle with the tail flame. XD Sadly one day Charmander got lost in the huge Uni building and was killed by fellow science students in a cruel water experiment who thought the Pokemon was homeless and wouldn't have a chance to live on its own anyway. (yeah humans are terrible...) After that traumatic experience, Cyrus got himself Houndoom because that was definitely a Pokémon who could eat defend itself from human scum. :c

Well, DPPt is almost 10 years old, I played it in 2008 first and there was not a single Mizuhikishipping art...I'm so happy that other artists like you slowly come up with fan art of that ship. ;A; I just never gave up hope, haha! Buut it's never too late to play Pokemon, even the old ones. I'm glad you actually played Platinum. Some people just watch the gameplay on YT or only know the anime which sucks. :c (pfff your sister doesn't seem to appreciate this wonderful pairing D: bad sister bad xD)

Sorry for the late reply! I wanted to wait until I felt better to write another wall of text, I'm really enjoying this conversation so I didn't want to half-ass it with typos, non-sense and short replies ;v;

I've heard the rumor too, but sadly it's not confirmed, from what I got it's from a person who told true rumors so far, that's why people believe them, but so far nothing "official" from Nintendo or GameFreak ;A;
But, you have to consider that in the past couple years they have given us sudden merchandise of Cynthia (deck box and card sleeves for the TCG, with a new official illustration, nendoroid, fullbody figurine), and since they did the same thing only with Steven when the remakes came out (although Steven has way more things, but that's for the remakes, so can probably expect more things of the Sinnoh queen as the remake comes out <3) that may be a hint on what's to come~!

I really hope it's a way to tell us that remakes are on the way! (though I'm not toooo hopeful on this, it may be a new "villain" series they're starting, since they also released the Team Rocket version on same day -which I'm SUPER happy for still, because it features also the TR Executives and I love them, there's definetely a huge lack of stuff on them ;n; )

Aaah yes, I DO like the redesigns myself (and I also appreciate how more in-depth they went with their personalities), I just can't see them as the same characters xD RSE Shelly and ORAS Shelly are two different people to me for example, that's why I refer to them as Shelly and Isabel/Izumi!

It seems we make poor Cynthia suffer through our headcanons, because one of my is that she has heterochromia, one of her eyes is blue and the other gray. Since she grew up in Celestic, old little towns tend to believe a lot in superstitious stuff, and people thought of heterochromia as a bad omen. Cynthia would be picked on by other kids, and when one of the fights resulted in being injured near her blue eye, she decided to cover it with her hair....she only told this to Cyrus during their teenage years since they were best friends //andmaybepseudodating-winks// c,:

Yes, I see they tried to use the same formula with Lysandre too, but it just works better with Cyrus imo, since you can see he actually has personal reasons beside instead of just waking up one morning and deciding the world had to be ~beautiful~ (also, in Cyrus' defense, he wasn't interested in damaging the currently world/people but mainly making another and bringing as much people as he could with him who thought the same way ---and according to some quotes eventually forcing it on everyone, sorry sunshine but gotta say the truth //pats Cyrus-, while Lysandre was going on a full out genocide wtf)

And that's interesting about your AU, so Giratina is like a sort of dark guardian angel to Cyrus? I think it suits it that it would represent not total darkness/evil, but all the lingering one everyone has, from the movies it doesn't seem an "evil" Pokemon, it just is very protective about its world. (also I always liked its parallel with Lucifer, I'm a major nerd when it comes to mythology xD)

Yeah, sometimes I really wonder how it would have been if Cyrus had been helped by his grandpa, poor baby ;n; But yes, the Crobat thing always confused me too, I too thing he cares about his Pokemon way more than what he wants others to think...he probably feels stronger not having to rely on emotions, since he always rants about them being a weakness (but clearly having them as you said)

My headcanon on his first Pokemon is far less emotional and more mainstream, he caught a Magikarp in Sunyshore and felt a bond with it, since they both were seen as ugly and useless, but had the potential to become someone great and powerful growing up.

Yeah, the anime was horribly written indeed D: I've read an interview once I think, in which they said the person who wrote that season hated Team Galactic, and their favorite characters were Cynthia and Paul (so that's why Cynthia was all like "oh, yes, I was like Paul too wehen I was young!" which is bulls**t imo, Cynthia who treats Pokemon badly and is just power-hungry? REALLY??)

(the reaction to Cynthia's pregnancy though...that would be hilarious to see xD)

It's very old indeed, my sister got it on late 2007 when she was still in elementary school, so she didn't pay attention to stuff like ships and I never paid attention to Gen4 until I got a Platinum of my own xD But better late than never! It's awesome that after all those years you're still faithful to the ship, wow ♥
(it reminds me of how much of a hardcore Shelly/Tabitha lover I was as a kid -I would write fanfics at only 8 years old or so xD- and how the remakes rekindled my love for them ♥ Though of the ORAS designs, I prefer Tabitha with Courtney, I just mean I still ship hard RSE Shelly/Tabitha xD)

Aww, you really think so? I was mainly worried because he just doesn't translate well to my style; I tend to draw in a more "cutesy" way and Cyrus, well...as you put it, is quite distrubing-looking more often than not xD
And thanks for noting that, I too imagine him really going more blank than anything because he's just not used to such things (he must have suffered some serious psychological abuse to end up as damaged as he is, I'm actually genuinely sorry for him, he's probably the only villain I can kind of justify the ideals)!

(I...actually really like the definition you give to yourself as a Galactic writer, ahah xD And oh, with Jupiter as punishment? I'm more of the sweet type who gives a second chanche to everyone, so that's why I ship him with Cynthia -she's kind and strong at the same time, so she would show him some kindness and still have the guts to tell him when he's wrong, maybe shape him in a better person, who knows! Out of curiosity, why do you consider Jupiter so cruel? I used to hate her but then after reading the manga saw her as more the cool/aloof type, so I'm kind of neutral/positive to her now, maybe I'm missing something? Because I usually can't stand pure cruelness ugh, that'd make me change my views on her;;; )

I think the more chapters of Precursors I write, the more it just confirms that I'm a cruel writer. Also, don't worry at all about being too wordy. I absolutely love what you have to say and the unnecessary length of what I write gives me no room to speak.

He's a hard subject but you definitely do him justice. And you're definitely right about Cynthia, I think I like this art and what you do with the ship (because Sinful Taste is such an amazing story) because it brings out the best in her. She's in a challenging spot where she reckons with a potentially toxic and unhealthy person by being kind and sweet (though still firm), almost irrationally because she loves what she loves. They're both such great characters. I'd love to see more of him and Cynthia, more of your written shipping too. Maybe some one-shots paired with the art? Oh goodness, glasses yes please. I don't even have such a fetish but I love how you draw it.

Ahah yes, I think you've got it spot on! It must be a challenging position indeed, I wouldn't really want to be in her shoes! And oh goodness, that flatters me! I actually have a little series of oneshots of them in the works (is an AU collection, so kind of a "what if" series of oneshots), but pairing them with art sounds also like a great idea! I'll see what I can do, time and health are never enough TvT But it really means a lot you're interested in my works ♥
It's set then, next Friday I'll try to do as many as I can! I don't have a fetish either, but sometimes seeing characters who aren't supposed to wear glasses makes them cuter for some reason xD
