............................................................

On a rocky beach with crashing waves, a sinister sea monster slithers up among the grassy dunes. Protecting their nests, a few enraged seagulls squawk at him try to drive him back into the sea. Meanwhile, the beast with smooth and shiny skin rears its long neck catching a scent of cooking food. Somewhere not far away, someone is having a barbeque on the sands. They are about to have a rather surprising guest for lunch.

This image uses purchased content. The characters were posed in Poser 6 then imported into Vue 9 where the rest of the scene was constructed. Final rendering was done in vue and took about 12 hours. Post production was done using GIMP.

Would you be offended if I wanted to print this out and frame it for my den in my home? I don’t want to steal your magnificent work, I only want to enjoy it in the privacy of my house.

Plesiosaurs could not move on land.

But they could lay on land

Plesiosaurs gave live birth.

Obviously it's not a plesiosaur then

ThalassoAtrox In reply to deskridge [2018-02-01 02:56:31 +0000 UTC]

Oh it would still be a plesiosaur. Only it would be a dead plesiosaur, as in dead beached whale plesiosaur.Β

Great pic! I love seeing these depictions of plesiosaurs taking to the beach like sea turtles! I wish there were more like these.

acepredator In reply to Misfit-a-saurus [2017-01-22 02:24:14 +0000 UTC]

The reason these depictions are few is that....plesiosaurs could not move on land and would die int his situation.

They gave birth to live young, so would have no need to go onto a beach.

THIS picture is the reason that nobody can trust those pictures of monster sightings anymore! It is so realistic, I looked at the picture, then at the clouds outside and thought the clouds were only a painting. Great work!

Technically a styxosaurus, but neither would be able to bend their neck that way.
