Description A Tyrannosaurus Rex stalks by a small stream in a dense Cretaceous forest.  Ferns carpet the ground and mist dances around the tall straight trunks of fir trees.  A ray of sunlight breaks through the canopy and illuminates the brown striped T-Rex as he sounds a great roar.

Just because I was in the mood to make a big scary dinosaur artwork

A disclaimer about my paleoart:

When it comes to paleoart, the images I create favor 'art' more than 'paleo'. While I try my best to depict animals as accurately as possible, I'm make no claim that they 100% scientifically accurate. The same goes for the environment I depict them in. I am primarily interested in creating aesthetically pleasing images and paintings. Scientific accuracy comes second behind artistic expression.

I've never seen anyone give stripes to a T-rex before. It would make sense as far as camouflage goes

Cool as usual . And I strongly appreciate that you don't make those common mistakes of painting a dinosaur on a grassy meadow though there was no grass back in their times .

deskridge In reply to Arlesienne [2013-12-20 14:07:25 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!  Though...actually...it turns out that there was some grass (or at least early forms of it) towards the end of the cretaceous.  At least, there was some in patches around southern Asia.  In 2005, a group of paleontologists found evidence for several types of proto grasses when examining sauropod coprolites from India.

You're more than correct, some kind of its ancestors started to evolve... I meant those fluffy meadows that so many children's books show with happy dinos on them.

may I give you an advice? I presume this TRex is big (tall). but, there are any 'evidence' 'he' is tall.
I explain: imagine a man close to 'him'. there, the T Rex is big!
