Nice! I rarely see this sort of thing in 3D art! I see this was done in Poser and Vue, but Ive downloaded DAZ 3D and bryce (for free) but haven't yet learned how to use them yet. Did you model the guns yourself or did you get them from a third party vendor?

Thanks!
There is nothing I modeled myself in this particular image. The guns are third party. There are tons out there on daz3d.com, and, generally, I only model something if I can't find an adequate model for sale somewhere (or the model is too expensive).

It seems buying all this stuff would get expensive, or is it very difficult and impractical to make your own clothes and props?

I actually don't spend that much, no more than 15-20 bucks a month. Though I have been doing this for a very long time, so things have built up over the years. I do model my own stuff too, but it can be very time consuming. In fact, I probably spend more time in sculpting programs like Sculptris and ZBrush than I do in Poser, but I still output 20x more images using third party models, just because it is so much faster.

I see. I know blender is a free program, but I've heard its difficult to learn how to use. Sketchup is easy, but only for certain things, not for modelling people or clothes and has only its own file format. The real nut I want to crack is to be able to make my own clothes for my models, such as shirts and pants and shoes.

Blender is a bit hard to learn, but so is any 3d modeling app that is any good. I used it for years. It gives you a great understanding of what underlies 3d art.

I guess once I get the ropes in DAZ 4.5 and Bryce 7, I guess I'll just have to bite my lip and learn blender

Your story makes my heart hurt a little for them. Poor people, but then crime doesn't really pay as you say. Beautiful light and I admire the dynamic cloth on her dress. Really looks nice!
