deslea — Handfast of Discontent (Bella/Tom, Others) 3D

Description Tom and Bella's handfasting is far from a happy occasion. Lucius and Narcissa's joy at their coming child is replaced with foreboding, and even the loyal Rodolphus can only muster resignation at being so easily replaced.

I haven't made a Sirius yet, but I've thought about it. He's not one of my favourite characters but I do love Gary Oldman, so I keep itching to do it. He's behind Draco and Tonks on the list, though!

Hee! Well, she's got something going on with him in almost every other universe, so why not be married to him in this one?

Absolutely. I've explained it away in fic that he's married to the Cause, but really, I'm not buying it. The first thing I would have expected Tom to do on leaving school would be to identify a Pureblood bride and insert himself even further into Pureblood society. I mean, I know he defied expectations to work at Borgin and Bourkes, but that wouldn't have actually prevented him making a match when he was so respected even at school.

Plus, Bella is kinda hot so she must have been a real looker twenty years prior.... So like I get the whole he doesn't understand love thing, but lust does not require love plus he was a looker too so... Also I'm sure any pureblood family that was in his circles with willing daughters to marry off, would definitely not have minded him working at Borgin and Bourkes...
It's such a shame Harry Potter was not written in more of a POV style like in the Game of Thrones series. It's not that I don't like Harry but there are just so many parts in the wizarding universe we only get a slight glimpse of.

Thank you!

And, *giggle*! I love the idea of a married Bellamort because it makes so much sense, whether you buy it as a genuine relationship or not. (You would think someone so obsessed with blood purity would desperately want to become part of one of the Pureblood families, and let's face it, she'd drop Rodolphus for him in a second. Not to mention, instant aristocracy should have appealed to someone who adopted an aristocratic title). However, I am very wary of it in fic because it would be very easy for it to jump the shark (and it often does). I have written a lot of Bellamort, including one wife-in-all-but-name one (that was a political thing), but I've never attempted them actually, conventionally (and genuinely) married. But art is just a snapshot in time - far fewer things to explain or manage the execution thereof .
