Description
It was really fun to draw this guy! I actually might draw him more often in the future. Todays theme was an OC inspired by fall. I decided to give him a bit of a biography too.
Name: Flint Sycamore
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bisexual
Birthday: 10/09
Other: Four fingers and normal human feet, this is due to be a mix of a Faun and a Human.
Personality:
Very snuggly and calm, he rarely gets angry and prefers to take things slowly. He doesn't have many controversial views, and his own views are kept to himself on most occasions. Flint really likes gardening and tends to a small plot of land outside of his fathers home. His favourite plants are sunflowers, dandelions and marigolds. His favourite colours are orange and yellow, often portrayed in the choices he makes regarding his clothes. His hair often goes unbrushed but he pays attention to his clothes. He is one of the few gardeners that love bugs, even snails. Flint gets sad about his mother who left him and his father, and becomes confused about his species since he's a mix of a supernatural being and a human. His dad encourages him to be more human, but his mother expressed how important it was for him to be more faun and to protect nature from humanity. Flint is too laid back to care about changing himself for others.
Backstory:
Flint is the product of a human and a fauns love for each other, which unfortunately wasn't permanent. Flint's father was a local blacksmith in the town he currently lives in, forging armour for soldiers that fought in war, he was a strong and handsome man. He was a simple kind of man, wanting to find a loving wife and raise a family with her. One day while out getting fire wood for his furnaces, he came across an animal caught in a hunters snare. Only this wasn't an animal, it was a bipedal goat woman.
In this world, it wasn't unheard of for them to exist, but it still shocked the young blacksmith. The goat woman was beautiful, with long red hair and large green eyes, and the young blacksmith released her from the snare, despite being slightly nervous around such a being. This faun had antlers of wood and the lower body of a goat, with tousled brown colouring. She thanked the human, and parted ways with him, leaving Flints father back to his everyday life. Only he noticed that the female faun would often visit his blacksmith. Soon enough, the two became friends. The faun would show Flints father around the woodlands she protected, and Flint would show her around the village. It was inevitable that the pairs closeness would soon blossom into love, and they became partners unofficially due to laws in their area.
This love wouldn't be permanent.
When the towns mayor decided to expand their towns size, Flints parents had no idea, but as the humans began eating away at the natural land, the Faun became heart broken, and had to be taken in by the blacksmith because the forest was too dangerous for her. Being seperated from the forest made her weaker by the day, and eventually, she grew to resent humans for taking her home away, and that included the blacksmith. She left the blacksmith suddenly, leaving him devastated and just as resentful towards her and fauns as a species.
Little did he know that the faun was now pregnant with his child, and she dropped off the baby, not wishing to care for it. This baby would be Flint, and the blacksmith wasn't too pleased about raising a faun human hybrid, but couldn't bring himself to abandon his own son. Faun have always been a species of mischief, and not all of them are completely kind. In this world, they are known to decieve and joke. Flints father was determined to raise this child as a human, and told him little about why he had strange features none of the other kids in his school had.
Flint grew up in a life where his own identity was constantly debated by people other than himself, and while on the surface he seems happy and cheerful, it does get to him that he can't seem to find anyone with similar traits to himself. He possesses the same affection and love for nature, and often dreams of meeting his mother again and asking her why she left him and his dad. Being a faun hybrid in a human town had always been difficult for him, while adults are caring and understanding of his situation, children his age often bully and torment him. This is why he is homeschooled and often keeps to himself, not having any notable friends.
