Arthur wondered the long, packed streets of New York. The air was cold and bitter. But, what else was to be expected durring the peak of winter. Not that Arthur minded of course, in fact, it was a welcomed change from most of America's warmer and more tropical states. Mainly as it gave him a feeling of home. After all, he was used to cooler climates from living in England.

He had just left Alfred's apparment after a long and somewhat pointless fight. The two of them seemed to do this more often than not recently. One minute everything would be going smoothly, then the next, one of them would say something out of line and it turns into an all out war.

Arthur groaned as he rubbed his hands together before bring them to cup around his mouth and breathing his warm breath on them. It was going to be a long night, and he was now regretting storming out. Mostly as he had nowhere else to go, but back to Alfred. And he just knew that as soon as he stepped back into the apartment they'd both know who the victor of the fight was. Which would cut a deep wound in Arthur's pride. Something he very much hated. Especially since Alfred had an annoying habit of rubbing salt in the wounds.

Just as the Brit turned a corner onto Madison Avenue, he felt a cold tinge on his head. Lifting his fingers to touch the abused area, he realised that it was a snow flake. He stopped and tilted his head upwards, watching as the fresh snow began to fall around him. Slowly at first, but it soon picked up speed and began to settle around him. After a few minutes of simply standing still and gazing upwards - that he didnt realise he was doing till a man had shoved past him and yelled ''watch what you're doing!'' in his face - he started walking towards his unknown destination again.

He allowed himself a small smile. It'd been a while since the last time it'd snowed in England, so he was delighted to see it again. Truth be told it was his favourite form of weather. Simply because it was so beautiful the way the settled flakes glistened in the sun before slowly melting, leaving only the slight trace of its existence behind. Snow was often a fleeting beauty, but every now and then it lasted, giving him that slight bit of extended joy.

Before he knew it, Arthur was back outside Alfred's apartment. His stomach was in a painful knot, and he contemplated checking into a motel or something. He wasn't afraid, no way, far from it. He just didn't want to have to suffer through hours of Alfred banging on about how he'd won this time.

Arthur frowned up at the building and was about to turn on his heels to head back, when he spotted a figure standing in the open doorway. He blicked a little, and after a few moments, realisation hit him. It was Al. Said man had a sad smile across his face, but was even more odd was the two cups of what appeared to be hot coco in his hands. Alfred out stretched one hand, tilting his head before mouthing something to him. Arthur eyes welled up a little, but his feet betrayed him and he couldn't move. But thankfully, it was only for a while, and he soon found himself walking to his formal colony, happily taking the hot drink from him. His eyes blinked a few times. Hot? Did Alfred know when he'd be back? No, even he wasnt that clever. Right?

The younger man didn't give Arthur time to dwell on his thoughts as he pulled him inside and locked the cold air out. The two walked over to the couch, where they sat, in silence. Arthur watched lazily as Alfred took both their drinks and placed them on the coffee table. The Brit was about to ask exactly what he was doing - he was after all just about to take a drink before the disturbance - but he was silenced by a pair of soft lips. Emerald green eyes widened in shock, but he didnt make a single attempt to push him away. After all, Alfred's taste was far better than any hot chocolate. The two wrapped their arms around each other, eagerly sucking in each others warmth as the kiss continued with only the occasional break for breath. After the best kiss he'd ever recieved, in Arthur's oppinion, he cuddled close to the younger blonde, closing his eyes with a soft smile gracing his lips.

''I missed you, too.''
