It's Elya again
This is for first contest! Elya gets to be my posterboy because people don't know he exists. Not yet anyway; pirates discover him later. He lives in a coral reef which is occasionally visited by pirate ships, like the one that lost the chest he's about to break into (he seems to have missed that there already is a hole in the side
) Hope the barnacles that already colonized the chest don't mind the intrusion XDLike in "forest fairies" I went for a background-intensive picture, though in this one I'm not going to count how many other creatures occupy the frame. It took hours to draw (surprise surprise) but I'm very happy with the result. Pencil sketch, inked.

Wow, it's beautiful! The treasure chest is so nicely drawn and detailed, and I love the feel of wonder and discovery this has. The busy background is great, you've really managed to suggest the underwater atmosphere in b/w, which seems quite a hard task.

I don't know, I wasn't really planning on it after all the detailing
origionally I was going to paint it but with all the stuff around him... now I'm mostly concerned that I'd loose all the details
