Description Some may be able to recognize this girl looking a lot like Tina (aka Terra) from Final Fantasy VI. Since I liked Mr. Amano's design of her so much, I decided (a long time ago) to start a version of her myself. It's taken me until now to finish it. I don't know where she is exactly. Some place cool and breezy but also sunny, I imagine. But the focus is on Tina.

It's beautiful. The concept, style and artwork are very different from those of the usual fanart. And I love that Leviathan flying behind her in the sky.

thanks it's just the shading that takes learning, although the concepts are pretty simple. it's just practice and patience mostly. i guess part of it is also the style im more prone towards. and then there's the 2-H design pencil I use to lay in the first, light layer of shading. i use 2B lead for the outlining and shading the foreground. then i try to blend it with 2-H lead for a smoother look. and i use B lead for the shadows and a lot of other areas. i think the only way to achieve that much detail on a regular letter-sized paper is with mechanical pencils. highlights i try to perserve. otherwise i use clik and putty erasers.

that's my process of "this art" in a nutshell, and hopefully it helps.

I especially like the wing design folding over her chest, the head, and the squigly doodad in her hair. Her left hand looks a bit off, though, and she has no eyebrows. Anyway, awsome picture!

haha, nice observations. The way the left hand looks is not my intention, but yea her eyebrows are suppose to be pretty light.

It's obvious you have some awesome technical skill with the pencil!!! I noticed that the bottom leg seemed a little "off" but then again, it does seem to flow very nicely with the shape of the cape and blends well with the lines on that side of the drawing, so I can see where you were going with that. Love those awesome collums! This rocks! +fav!
