I just fell in love with this. Nothing to do with my obsession in to thing like this. I wanna move in a place like that.
It could be haunted. It looks like there could be some ghosts wondering around.

Lovely work. The tall, thin forms of the trees are so alien like, and yet also familiar. Wonderful foggy image.

I can only agree with the others above...
With the title it makes you think of a lost battle and many losses... very sad and still very beautiful.
And even without the title it would be equally great... being sad and lonely in a dying wood...
I love the mist, the soft tones ^^

How does it look in colour?

I love b&w photography and I have always empathized the need for contrast between the dark and light colours in a picture – but this, even not being particularly contrasted, is really something. The fog is sort of making it very melancholic which I think works very well for the photo. I doesn’t need contrasting, it simply has to be foggy and darkish like you made it!
I can totally picture myself walking in a forest like this one (though I would be freaked if I was alone).

Great job!

Fog has always been hard for me to photograph and one of my favorite things in nature. This is perfect!!

What a beautiful... field? I realize it's not a truly field, but I must agree with your title... no, it's definitely a field!

Wonderful shot.

the almost empty forest makes it feel like the battle is lost, but the dawn coming makes it feel like the battle was won with heavy losses. either way it is a great picture.
