It's been a while since I've done anything related to the Animals of Farthing Wood. The art style is as hard as fuck to nail down and it's a shame because I really liked it so I just had a whack at doing some AOFW foxes in my own style.
So, this is Lady Blue, one of the antagonists from the series, and Dog, a fan character. Lady Blue is probably my favourite female character from the series (I love how much of a bitch she is) and it's a shame she vanishes in the third series after Scarface dies so I came up with a fanfiction to explain what I think happened to her a few years back. In this fanfiction, she heads out into the wilderness immediately after her mate dies (Colin Dann somewhat indicated that Scarface's mate sort of left her children to her own devices so yeah) and tries to get to grips with being a wild fox, whilst trying to overcome her grief.
Once in the wild, she comes across a dog fox who is simply named Dog. Dog takes somewhat of a shine to her, as he finds her snobbery laughable rather than offensive, even dubbing her 'Princess' at one stage as I didn't really want to come up with a 'real name' for her like some people have done with Scarface before he got his scar. Being a red fox with no class, he initially disgusts Lady Blue but she eventually begins to fall for him, despite her loyalty to Scarface and being a proud blue vixen. The fanfiction hasn't been finished to this day but that was the overall plot of it.
Dog's design was hard to come up with. In my head, he was originally going to be a red version of Scarface but I thought this a bit cliche and that's when I came up with a twist in the story that would sort of put their relationship on the rocks. I don't really want to say it but those familiar with the show should see that Dog's colours and markings do look similar to an existing fox character within it. And I added a mop of whitish 'hair' because none of the male foxes in the show really have it and I like to go against the system. haha

Thank you and he did go through a lot of design ideas, like I think I had a shade of burgundy in mind for his main fur colour but I wanted him to be the most blinding shade of red in the series because of Lady Blue's dislike of red foxes. lol

Well, she really doesn't like him at first because of that but she changes her mind once she realises what an abusive dick Scarface was and Dog saves her life on a few occasions. haha

I may have read it, but I don't remember that well. I've wanted to write a full length AoFW fanfiction, but could never get a plot idea off the ground. Mostly I just do crossovers and an occasional oneshot featuring another friend's oc's.

Yeah, I do personal stuff too and that gets in the way. I do want to finish it one day (I was going to introduce a ton of action with a fox-eating hawk antagonist and a fur farm and shit like that but meh).

Yeah making up a decent plot can be hard, especially when one it set after the third season. Though if pulled off correctly it could be really good. My ideal idea would involve Plucky's new responsibilities as leader, while few of the original cast being dead or old and their descendants taking their place. Heh, I had one idea about Adder having a son (his father being Sinuous) who is actually nice and completely unlike his mother (much to her chagrin)

People have sort of tried to write about an older Plucky before (I think I tried it once) and I find it a tad bit difficult. I think it's because I found Plucky to be quite uninteresting but that was the fault of the writers, I think, since they hardly gave him any screentime in any of the episodes.
If I really had to write about a possible fourth series, I'd have probably have Ranger as the antagonist. You can tell he was somewhat jealous that Plucky was chosen as leader over him, despite him being much older.

You could probably give him an internal conflict of being as good as his grandfather Fox or not making his father, Bold's sacrifice go to waste. That is what I'll do in my fanfic.

Yeah, Plucky could have had much more in terms of characterization. Personally I found the side characters far more interesting, which is why most of my one shots involve my friend's oc.

Ranger is probably my favourite out of all of them. I wish they had incorporated his personality from the books into his character more, he does come out with some good one-liners, especially when he suggests to Bold to hook up with some of his sisters instead of stalking him and Charmer. rofl
He's also a bit more selfish in the books. He's ready to convince Charmer to run away with him after Scarface announces he's going to attack her family, even if it means leaving her parents and brothers to die. He just doesn't manage to go through with it because Scarface catches him sneaking off and drags him on a hunting trip. c:

My favorite character has to be and lave if you wish it is Dreamer. I know she wasn't in the story long enough to really get any kind of personality or anything other then wandering off but still I loved her she was adorable :3

No, it was Bold who opposed their relationship in the books because of how Scarface and his family ganged up on him (he sure held a grudge, put it that way). He didn't leave until after Scarface was dead, and he left to find a mate and experience the world, not because Fox was angry with him. In fact, Fox was all 'a little much too soon, my son' in the books when Bold snuck off to Scarface's land. Friendly actually rumbled Charmer's relationship with Ranger before anybody else did and he kept quiet about it, so his book version is probably my second favourite character. He has a mate in the books too, he gets together with one of Ranger's cousins, Russet.
So, yeah, Friendly being a lil bitch in the TV series was actually a replacement for Bold because the second series would've gone for some time if they'd stuck to the actual timeframe of the books. Far easier to have two storylines running side by side rather than doing it one after the other, as the second series is based on three of the books.
Dreamer has more of a role in the books too, even if it isn't that much of a big part. In the books, Scarface actually intended to kill Bold out of all the cubs and ambushed them during a hunting trip. Vixen is all 'oh no u didn't' and beats the shit out of him. Dreamer doesn't make it back to the den - she presumably got lost or wandered off - and Scarface kills her instead.

AH makes sense. That's sad that they killed off Dreamer though she could have been a very good character I felt her design in the series itself was a lot cuter XD
