Description

Jumping spiders are not easy to take pictures of! Their vision is quite good, and they are very skittish around anything except fingertips, which it seems they infrequently like to attack.

This little guy was on a couch cushion, which I kept turning over in my hands as he ran away from my camera. He would sit still for a bit, I would rotate the cushion so he's be facing the sunlight and the lens, lean slowwwwly in so he was in focus through the viewfinder...almost there...*click*...that one felt blurry...and then he'd be gone: running off into the blurry area of my viewfinder, invariably towards the hand holding the cushion. Not the hand, ah no!!! I took so many failed shots, you have no idea. But in the end I got him!
