HEy, its a comic where bunnies get eaten in trade for beeing able to eat. Thats somehow just nature, but "naturally" they have a chance to get away, here they dont... no wonder I feel pessimistic XD

The foreboding feeling that the plot is going to be taking another character very soon....
My guess something or someone will catch friendbun or the mom is going to pass away. If the later, this raises questions of how the warren keeps populated. Is there just one breeding doe or do they get to choose? Given the society they are in, I'm curious if there may not be some big brother/ Hand Maiden Tale vibes.

I've also been thinking about the population thing, so I could give you my thoughts! Explaining how this rabbit society works in detail isn't something I'm able to put into the story itself, so this is more like my personal headcanon, than true facts.
I think everyone is allowed to have a family if they want. Small children or their mothers are never chosen to jump, so they actually have that short "immunity" from the pit. That's why becoming a mother is very beneficial, if you don't want to jump!

Now I´m wondering whether my last guess had been fatally wrong and what the "Friendbun" fears is not related to notched-ear being female (and pregnant) hence maybe going away like his mother once did...but maybe Friendbun simply fears Ear-notch might start to feel way too attached to the outside and catch a sort of "wanderlust" which might carry s/he out forever. If Ear-notch (littlebun) feels way too fond iof the outside s/he might go to never return, and Friendbun has grown immensely attached to them!---plus, there´s a chance that Friendbun knows something we (and ear-notch) don´t know and he´s trying to keep Ear-notch safe. Who knows what might lurk outside at certain hours some days?
I hope to not be jinxing it---but I´m both curious and worried for them now!
