Holy Smokes. I'm ready to move to - where are you? - New Zealand? What a dominating tree, and what a commanding set of stairs. Someone had a lot of vision to build that path. Moonbeam there is dead on - don't even think about colour, the distractions would be so disappointing. Fantatic photo.
I also saw your comment on your journal about scanners - I also scan my slides and negs but have tried 3 services, all rotten - I either get miserable sharpness & contrast, or the colour balance is almost unrecognizable. Or both. Finally went out and got a used Photosmart thinking I could tweak them better myself if I did them with time and care. Not a chance - can't tell the difference. There's a lab in town that says its not worth scanning unless you use resolution in the order of 5000 per side (approx) but I haven't tried their service yet. Of course the resolution will do zero for the colour problem. I'm SO tired of photos that I like looking fuzzy - you would think I shot everything in 2.8 at 1/30 after a night of drinking and with greasy lenses. If you keep having problems you might want to check out a Nikon Coolscan 3000 (scanner) - that's what I think I have to read up on next. Or brace myself for digital.

Yeah I've had images professionally scanned, costs' heeeaaaaaaps!!! but is worth it. But posting at the teeny tiny resolution I am here and on my website, I hope this lil flat bed scanner will be enough 
If people want bigger clearer pics, they pay me some bucks first!!

Don't you dare add colour it's perfect in black and white! It allows your eyes to witness the raw texture of the foilage and the stone in the stairs. Don't change a thing, it's great the way it is
