Description
... Although this 'fossil' had been through a reasonably long period of time in it's current state, none of the other animals had dared go near it for further inspection. They only dared come as close as the entrance of this little cove before they would quickly change direction and head in a new direction, as if looking for something. There was no particular pattern to their formation, they just followed eachother in a slightly unorthadoxed manner. What didn't seem to make sense was the fact that none of the crustations had moved in on 'its' location to take advantage of such a rare and indeed plentiful bounty? How come nothing had dared disturb 'it' from it's place of rest? The only thing bold enough to move 'it' was the somewhat animated collection of atoms that followed freely together to make up the current. Sand and broken up shell was beginning to find a new home on the surface of the creature, almost in an attempt to shield the rest of the world from this creatures beauty. Nothing as visually stimulating deserved such a fate as this one had succomb to. Just as the current started to die down a little, there appeared to be a slight glint in the creatures eye. Surely it couldnt still be alive? Surely not after all this time? Had it just been lethargic? Perhaps it was incapacitated and wasn't able to move? No matter what the case may be, this was all beginning to make some sense of why 'it' had lay so inanimate yet not being disturbed by the surrounding ecosystem. They were aware that 'it' wasn't infact dead, it was only resting. All the other fish had realised that 'it' was still alive and that's why they hadn't dared tempt fate by coming within a closer proximity of this colossal creature. Not even the crustations had dared come near it and they were the most curious and adventurous of all the inhabitants of this area. They were not easily intimidated but finding that there was still life in this 'thing' had clearly made them cautious....
