Huh, I imagined it the other way, with Rarity encouraging Ember to seduce Spike so she can focus on Sugar Daddies.

Before "Where The Apple Lies" I always thought they would end Spike crush on Rarity by having one of the cmc take notice of colts and get a crush on Spike. Then Twilight, Rarity, and if it wasn't Sweetie Belle the other big sister would then try and get to get over Rarity. But then "Where The Apple Lies" Β came along and show us that there bigger age gape between Spike and the cmc then Spike and the mane 6, so now it time for this crush thing to end or at least change. The only way I see this happening now is for a mare to get crush on Spike and depending on how old the mare we it could go one of two ways. If the mare the same age as the mane then we that would mean that Spike is five years younger then Twilight(like what everybody thing he is anyway) and could stand a chance with Rarity. In this case we could see Rarity start to feel the same way as Spike, but I feel this unlikely. The second way the mare would be a teenager and then we could have Spike realize that he to young for Rarity and start to try and move on from her, and failed mostly. I find this one the most likely of the two.

Yeah, that episode, combined with "Cutie Mark Chronicles" (AJ states she was around the CMCs ages when she got her CM and she looks WAY older than that before AB was born) means that yeah, Spike is probably the same age AJ was in "Where the Apple Lies".

I know, and I still say that one of those two things should happen in the show, funny thing when I said this else where people pointed out that Starlight is more that likely younger than Twilight who by all accounts looks to be the youngest of the mane 6. Meaning she closer to Spike's age, someone even said that they think Spike is older than her and while I'm not to sure about that it would make a good episode if that was the case.

True but it could be fun. Either way I find it unlikely that they would do that, while I have no doubt that Starlight is younger than Twilight I do doubt that she younger than Spike or even the same age.

About that: They are still calling him a Baby Dragon... but if he's actually way older than the CMC... how old is an adult dragon supposed to be compared to a pony, for Pete's sake?!

Well it is the ponies that call him a "baby" dragon, the other dragons never called him that. They did call him a hatchling to mock him and made fun of him for not having wings and being short. This to me make it sounds like he a just a late bloom which isn't that weird, I knew a guy who didn't enterΒ puberty till he was 16. Plus here another thing to think about, in "Secret Of My Excess" he when to a "baby" to "teenager" and to "adult" by hording random junk than when back to being a baby when he stop letting his greed control him, this could mean that those stages have nothing to do with aging and could just work digimonΒ evolution stages.

Spikezilla got some armor when he change and he was powerful enough that one fire blast was all it took to send the changeling swarm running. Also Twilight doesn't know how to make the potion.Β

And 51 too, funny thing in one of the issues that was a tie in to the final they show something veryΒ interesting about the dragons and ponies past. There was a pony-dragon war and the ponies started it! That really all they said for a fact about it and it could have happen before Equestria as we only saw unicorn knights fighting a dragon, they also made it sound like the dragons kept the war going long after the ponies were ready to make peace.

I mean, about the comics and the show. I know how canonicity works in comics among themselves, it's always the cross-media the issue.

The comics are listed as level 2 canon, which means the comics are canon as long as the show doesn't says otherwise. Which parts of the comic can be taken as canon while other parts can't.

51 and onward of the main line and any side comics that come after it, excerpt for parts about old issues that haven't been said to be canon or not. For example in one of the show canon issues they shown back ground dragons living in a pony city because one of the old issues said they did. So the story line is canon to the show but the back ground dragons may not be.

No, it wasn't. Which is a shame for I would love to see the umbrum in the show. By the way in the comics it turns out that Sombra was half unicorn half a dark spirit of fear and hate called a umbrum. Who was so evil every last one of them were lock up before Equestria came to be, and the Crystal Empire was build right on top of them just to power the Crystal heart to make sure they could never get out. When Queen Chrysalis heard that her new and far more powerful ally King Sombra was going to release them she flew away in fear as fast as she and the changeling swarm could go.

I see... well, it's only matter of knowing what fits and what not. Still, only 50 issues having a dubious canon makes it easier than figuring out what was canon to the New 52.
