Athena Nikos, aka the super heroine White Owl and Nadine Colesun, sometimes known as Books Bratt walked through the pristine white corridors of one of Nadine's lab compounds.
They walked in silence, White Owl seemingly wrapped up in her own thoughts. Nadine glanced at her companion more than once and frowned. She didn't need to be Rachel to know something was not on the up and up here.

With a visible effort White Owl shook of her mood of introspection and looked at Nadine, "So, what do you want to show me? Your call said it was important."

"It is, very" Nadine agreed. "Athena..."

"Yes?"

"Why don't you tell me what's wrong first?"

White Owl sighed, "Nothing."

"That young lady is $5 to Dee's twinkie fund, because that is a fib." Nadine wagged her finger at White Owl.

"What? Why does she even need a twinkie fund, she is a billionaire?!?" White Owl started to protest.

"Nah ah! Don't change the subject. Come on Athena, spill it!"

"Fine!!!" White Owl halted abruptly. "I got tagged trying to stop a bank robbery. And not only did I end up tied to the vault door, but people were taking pictures on their phones! The people I try to protect. Then they ran it on the three o'clock news, the six o'clock news and they had a panel of experts on the nine o'clock news!!!!" White Owl gestured emphatically with her hands as she gave vent to her frustration.

"I see, well..." Nadine began.

"I save people, I do good. I save kitten in trees, I stop alien invasions....I even saved the President!" White Owl talked right over Nadine. Now that she had begun to vent there was no stopping her.

"I know, you do good, lots of good! Well, the President I am not so sure about but the other things..." Nadine tried to calm her companion down but it was no good.

"Does that get a panel of experts on the nine o'clock news? No, oh no. if I am lucky it makes page three!"

"Well bad news..."

"An ALIEN INVASION!!! Me...stopped it. Then there was that dinosaur...running rampant all over the town...not a column inch!"

"I know but you see..."

"I mean...Just once, why can't they run the story where I save the kitten?!?" White Owl asked irritably, then drew in a breath.

Before she could continue Nadine quickly interjected."Bad news sells. Bit don't worry, this will cheer you up."

"I don't know anything bar a mountain of chocolate could cheer me up right now."

"This will."

"You sound awfully sure" White Owl looked at Nadine, curious despite her foul humor.

"Because I am, I am a scientist...we know things! Just around the corner, and all will be revealed!"
