The blur is an effect, yes! This is pretty much what I set out to do, but I also tried without it (experimenting moves the artistic borders, right ) and tried to add colour as well - personally I didn't think the experiments went that well, so I went back to the old idea (PS contrast + filtres). Don't be - you can buy them from army supplies for just about €8. The aliens are probably peaceful and look like us, so why don't we act hostile and look like them ? (or we could just look good in our anti-gas masks...)
