In grade 6 we had 3 quizzes from 3 teachers during the last month of school.
One of which had a quiz about the Simpsons. It's his favourite show okay.
There was a question, "How many cats did/do the Simpsons own?"

Most answered 2 as they were aware of Snowball and Snowball II.
There was a Halloween episode (I think) in which Snowball II had passed away and a series of cats were bought to replace the previous until an entire series of Snowballs had come forth into existence. By the end of the episode, the crazy cat lady threw a cat to Lisa, thus being named Snowball II the 2nd/ Snowball V (5). Simply: Snowball II.

The eisiode was I-(doh) bot, parody of the movie I-Robot starring Will Smith. It includes Lisa replacing all of her deceased pets while Homer helps his son Bart build a robot for the Robot Destruction Derby. Unbeknownst to Bart, since Homer had difficulty building a robot, he would be the "engine" and control the robot from within the metal shell. Homer persisted due to his love for Bart and tried his best even though he was sawed, cut, punctured, battered and bruised. By the end, he was no match for Professor Frink's massive monstrosity, a pure wonder of science. When the shell of Homer's robot was broken, Bart discovers why the robot has been grunting, bleeding and his father's love; also, the robot stops fighting as it has been designed to serve man and not destroy it. Therefore the battle is over (Frink probably on due to Homer being a human and not a robot, thus being disqualified). The episode ends with Lisa gaining Snowball 2 the 2nd.

Due to being a Halloween episode, the events may have not occurred and cannot be considered canon. But due to the circumstances, I do believe this would fit into the canon storyline.

Technically 2, is correct; and technically 5 is correct.
2 or 5 should have bee an answer.
Not many people knew this fact, neither did the "Simpson fan".

We did some research during normal class ti, went next door, and sure enough... he had rejected our answer because of not know the episode, series, and episode code/serial number,

If it was for money, and it was a winning question, I would demand research etc. However it was a quiz just for fun, who cares?

I did make an information sheet back then, what is the point? It should be on wikipedia etc.
