I have the worst trouble finding foundation, too! It's horrid in the summer because all the girls at school go tanning and will whine "Ug! I'm so pale!" and then I feel like their gaze shifts to me to reassure themselves they're not that ugly :/
I've only been complemented on my pale skin once or twice, but I remember when I was a kid I would get the greatest pleasure from being whiter than everyone else, like it was a contest. I thought my paleness was the coolest thing. I still like my skin, though - at least I know I'll never get cancer from it.
Though I've been told in Korea and other Asian countries being pale is beautiful because it signifies a wealthy status

I love darker skin XD! But pale skin is cool too, I love all skin colors depending on the person. C: I'm pale but not quite as pale as you sound
I don't think tanned is 'overrated' or anything...I live in a place where the only tan you can get is fake because of how hot it is, but we have a lot of darker ethnicity here anyway~

I'm one of those [un]fortunate souls that tans well, but I love being pale (makes eyeliner so much more vibrant!)

i'm pretty damn pasty, but not quite as pale as a good freind of mine. We're total geeks, and we love it that we can't go out in the sun without factor 50

I'm also very pale XD I love this secret. Every foundation is too dark for me, as well (luckily I'm blessed with clear skin, so I don't need it too often except for the blue under my eyes). I'm literally allergic to too much sun (sunburn turns into a very bad rash, and will freckle but not tan
