Drawing, writing, reading, pretty much anything productive or creative is a great outlet to let out stress, worries, fears, etc. I think that is why most people here on dA have a deviantart account.

yes... i'm in my own world... where no one can get through unless i wanted too..but my other reason why i draw is that, it is my only medication when my imagination is overflowing that in too much of it, everywhere i look it's where my vision is focused...

I was like that too - but then i realised my drawings will not improve if i just use them as escape. And i want to get better at my craft no matter what.

I get lost in colors and lines, blots of ink and smeared chalk and pencil lines. The hurt goes away and I only have worry about if it looks pleasing to my eyes.
When I draw, I am at my most vulnerable state. Someone could sneak up on me or do something to mess me up and I could destroy them.

That's why I get obsessed with fictional characters, and draw/write/watch/listen to them, even in another language, because it stops me from thinking about bad things.

I guess this is the reason most people draw...and the reason most great artists ever have...I think it's amazing that, whatever our skill level, we can be united in the fact that drawing is an escape from reality into a world that is whatever we want it to be, and makes life less stressful for all of us one way or another!

Same here. I don't really fit in at school, but here? But here people don't judge me by what I wear or my habits, they judge by my artwork. Besides, instead of doing CAAP I get draw.

Well, that's awful! hate when people make snap judgments based on what they hear or think they see about a person, I know how you feel, most of my school has done it to me as well I'm sure you're a very nice person...and you can never draw too much!
It may sound cheesy...but these people at school, if they're willing to make a snap judgement like that you wouldn't want to know them anyway!
