i dont know... to me that sounds like they are self harming. i used to pull my eyelashes out for attention, (seriously no one would notice me) so maybe thats what they are talking about?

I think they are talking about the eyelash wishes. Where an eyelash falls out. But you could be right. It can go both ways...Now I have a totally different look on life...*panic*

I think that you should make specific wishes. Like the be careful what you wish for phrase. You know like: I wish he would talk to me about love. Or: I wish he would love me as a girlfriend. (I tried the just: I wish he would love me. And it turned out he loved me like a sister. It was horrible.)

That happens to pretty much all of us...we starve so for one person's attention that soon we don't care what kind of attention it is...well, here's hoping you find someone who notices you for all the right reasons, that you want to notice you, and I'm pretty certain he exists.
