go out and find a band that needs someone, there bound to be one around somewhere, take some time out to go look for one, or if any of your friends play instruments see if you can start one with them.
look anywhere within reach really, look in near by cities if you dont already live in one, anywhere and everywhere.

I've only had a newfound appreciation for bass but whoaa the funk groove is amazing. Anywhoo I'm merely a vocalist and was lucky enough to find a group of friends who play different instruments. I'm sure sometime in your life you will be able to round up some people to have a smallscale band and get bigger as you go (:

Best of luck! I'm sure it'll be awesome. I hope one day when you make it big you'll be like "HEY. I was ST 5602." (:

I agree with the others, start a band!
Bass players are awesome, I wish I played bass.
But the only thing I -somewhatbarely- know how to play that'd be band worthy would be drums.

Don't stick all your eggs in one basket also! Try new things, try several things, figure out which ones work well and which ones work better! Don't give up!

Multiple instruments is not what I meant... but I don't exactly remember what I meant.

I tried. I had this bestfriend, and she was a drummer. So naturally the two hardest-to-find-bandmemebers wanted to make a band.
3 years later I get "We were never making a band. o-o"
Soo... I tried. Now im homeschooled.

FIND A BAND! Don't let your talent go to waste.
Or make one! Find friends or schoolmates who are also interested and who dabble in music! Put out adds in the paper! Do what ever you have to, because if you've worked this hard, you deserve it.

I know the feeling.
I can't sing because I have a cold. My throat hurts like hell.
Makes it that bit worse, since I sing every day.

It's not that hard to find a band to be in- or make one yourself. Find some musical people and get started. I hope everything works out well for you :]

Do you have any community colleges or recreational centers around you that offer music courses? You can take one of those for pretty cheap, and meet some cool people while you're there that may be willing to join in with you. Or, if you have enough money, there are those rockband summer camps. Aside from the one always advertised everywhere (powerchord academy), there are plenty of others that allow you to have an opportunity to be in a band of some sort, even if for a short time.

I dont know about rec centers, but I live right beside Rappohannock Community College but I dont know about music courses.
I thought about those, but I figured having a taste of being in a band would make me feel even worse once it was over.

You should check out the music courses. Most people who take classes like that are interested in learning to be in a band, anyways. Good luck with everything, ST :]

Start your own band! Or be in mine, our bassist hates us and left us bass-less D:
or you can be one of those weird solo bassists...
do they exist?
Hmm...
anyway, yeah, start a band.
start one!!!
