I appreciated the advice, everyone...but thinking liking that, that maybe he meant it somehow or really did care...kind of backfired: [link]

That's so sad... But sometimes can be more truthful when they are drunk...

I totally agree with this.
People are more emotional when they're drunk, and even if the person doesn't truly love you, they like you very much. Keep that in mind.

Miotas is right. People usually spit the truth when under the influence.

As said before, there is a difference between being a drunk and being anxious. Talk to this person first, ST, before you decide he is not worth your time. I agree about not being with a guy who drinks all the time, so find out how often it is. Growing up in a family like that is hard, I know because I was in the almost same situation (excepe the roles were reversed), and I am very mistrustful of people myself. But still, everyone deserves at least a chance!

But well, I kind of know what you are going through. I also seem to be pretty unlucky when it comes to relationships. An alcoholic with OCD, who left me all of a sudden, because he "found someone else", then a guy who cheated with me on his girlfriend (about the girl I hadn't known until some time later; then I broke up with him), and now I got turned down twice by one guy. Nobody seems to love me, either they want just to fuck me, or they speak the crappy stuff like "I like you a lot, you're amazing, but I cannot be with you" blah blah blah.
Sorry, I'm quite frustrated, I don't think my "wonderful" story can help you in any way. >.<
But if you ever want to talk, feel free to contact me.

Talk to them, ST. For a lot of people, our true feelings come out when drunk. Sure alcohol is an inhibitor in a lot of way, but it loosens our lips sometimes too. Talk to them about it, and if they deny it ever happened, then its not someone worth your time anyway.
