two people I know personally cut themselves...I've seen the marks. please, just be honest and open with your friends. let them help you. they really REALLY want to help you

I don't have any advice as far as the cutting itself. That's your business.
However, I do think you should be more honest with the person you love. Talk with them personally and tell them the whole truth.


PS. Can I just say, if it WAS for self defense, I think the whole knife-hidden-in-the-bra idea is pretty badass! (not trying to be insensitive to the secret or anything. just saying.) I don't know, it just makes me think of some fantasy novels with women-warriors who act all prim and then kick butt....

of course my initial response is sadness that you'd need to cut, upset that you couldn't be honest, and a similar thought to someone before me of 'sorry doesn't mean anything if you don't change your actions';
but my secondary, more shameful thought/joke is:


why on earth your bra? that's terribly uncomfortable and risks cutting your chest and makes your boobs look terribly weird.
