I know its hard, but try to understand there side. My best friend has been in love with me for 3 years and we try to be friends but when he tells me that I'm breaking his heart and gets upset about me having a boyfriend that really hurts me too. I wouldn't hurt him for the world but I can't help it because he's in love with me, so a lot of times i feel like if I left him alone he'd be happier...ya know?

My best friend said the same exact thing to me. But we've managed to repair our friendship and it's stronger than ever.

You just have to decide where YOU can have them in your life as just friends. If you can, I would say to repair what has appeared to fall apart. It's possible, trust me.

Ever considered that it was said because they might have too much interest in you? That they won't allow themselves to get into the position of falling in love with you? Maybe because the are insecure about being able to 'handle you' or satisfy you or keep you happy?

Some people are best binary: Either completely together or completely apart.

It's a horrible feeling, ST. Had it happen a few months ago, myself. Shortly after I expressed interest, I found myself unfriended on Facebook, and haven't heard a word from her since.

Hang in there. I know it hurts now, and I'd be lying if I said you'll get over it. You don't. But the pain dulls over time. And with any luck, you'll find someone better.

I went through the same thing ST, although the guy I was in love with decided to string it out into a 6 month ordeal where he used me, until finally i got over him. After that he decided to drop our friendship. Sometimes people just suck But the thing to keep in mind is that EVERYTHING happens for a reason. No matter how much it may hurt now, you'll be better off in the long run.

: ( That's happened to me before, ST. It really hurts, doesn't it? You can do two things: Try to repair it, or go out and find some new, better friends! There are plenty fish in the sea! Sure, no one can replace another person, but there are some really good people out there that would never do that to you. I suggest going out there and making better friends.
