I'm in the same boat.
I stopped caring about my dad a long time ago. I was sick of the abuse and neglect, but if I were you ST, I would talk to someone about it. I'm sure you have confronted him. I have done the same. All he does is deny it and when the subject comes up he tries to change it quickly. In all honesty, my dad had told me that he hates me me and the would choose his drinking over me. I know thats the drinking talking... but I still feel like that is HIM saying that. I'm sure you have hear similar things. But I know what you are going through. Especially being the main target when my dad is drunk, I've learned to cope with it.You can legally or your mother or someone who has athorty of him to make him get help. That is what I am planning to do when I am 18. Only three years left...
It still hurts, but you sorta get over it.

..if only the person was 16..and it was the mother instead of the father...this could be my secret...

I'm in the same boat.
That's why I don't tell my dad when my event are, and if he wants to come, I won't let him. Except, he is not in AA or anything. He won't admit to it. :/

this scares me, i could have written this word for word, i just turned 20 and i have the exact same problem. i let him get away with it because its a 'disease' when actually i know its jsut a big excuse that he could really change if he wanted... hope things work out for you and yours..

Maybe it would be a good idea to print this out and mail it to him as a postcard...

Have you told this to him face-to-face?
I get the feeling that you already have.
But maybe it'll taking losing his second daughter for him to finally realize what he's doing. :\
