Not bad and in my opinion the ODST fits well in the background. You got potential and so dose your fanfic, hope to read more of it soon and hope it got some good action scenes.

This is very good work, not stupid at all. I can see where the ODST is edited in, yet somehow it only enhances the image, it give the image an almost 3D effect.

To put it another way, hm. It is like a side scrolling game, the main observed bits are in the foreground and the background contains the undercurrents and/or setting (e.g. is it an underwater level, is it an eastern cultural setting, etc) of the story.
