Description A lighter render of the Dalek Supreme.

Sounds kind of like a dish, doesn't it?

Model created by myself in 3D Studio Max Deisgn 2010
Rendered using photometric lighting and standard scanline rendering solutions (in 3DSMaxD 2010)

The Daleks (c) Terry Nation

It's great to know people still love the classic series

indeed. I mean I do love the new show but the olden days of yore are my escape. My favourite doctors are in order 2, 7, 10 and 3.

Yes, I know what you mean. Personally I'd have to say my favourite doctors (in approximately this order, but don't hold me to it!) are 9, 10, 3... and personally I reckon the BBC should've given 6 more of a chance to develop; they axed him before they could make his grumpiness give way to the gentler character within - a bit like how they developed Eccleston into a gentler character through his companion.

i see. I agree with the six analysis. That's why i'm glad for 6's big finish audios. The character gets to evolve.

Interesting - I never did listen to those, actually - maybe I'd better give them a try!

Really nice render - like the slight hover-glow too

Cheers!

I couldn't believe it when I found out that not only was the dalek Peter Cushing 1960's Dalek borrowed from Terry Nation, but the "ear lights" were in fact upturned jam jars filled with purple lighting gel, the eyepiece is just a bog-standard domestic torch and the detailing around the neck rings is actually vinyl worktop edging nailed in - that's what you call a cheap Dalek build! Yet strangely it seemed worked... I wanted to recreate this build faithfully, but still make it look like it's on a par technology-wise with the NSDs, hence the red glow. I decided it made it look more badarse than the grey drones

Yeah, they managed to use what was to hand back in the day. Despite what people say I think sometimes they really hit the mark!

I agree completely - the Supreme somehow appears regal and imperious: I remember, when I watched it for the first time, really being impacted by seeing Daleks acting subservient and afraid!

...although seeing the plant-pots in the jungle didn't help the story's credibility in my eyes
