Description Improved version of my past mockup: fav.me/d5uaqhb

Just as the revised File manager, the Music Player sports a new and refined UI focusing on the content in this case displaying the album's cover art is its main focus.

Gone from the Action bar are unnecessary controls instead we have now simpler straight to the point actions, access to your library, playlists, recently played songs and favorite songs.

In the toolbar we have the player's controls, the seek bar, the name of the current song and the playback controls.

A simple, clean music player.

Wow, this actually reminds me a bit of some of the early Maui OS mockups I saw of Hawaii. I certainly wouldn't mind apps going in this direction. It could be interesting to apply the 'sidebar' element to a desktop scenario, like you have here in the toolbar (if I can indeed call it that).

Of course, the beautiful icons and type are a huge part of the reason I love this. Which reminds me- any chance I could get the name of that typeface?

I've been wanting to try out Maui OS for some time now but I haven't been able to do so, I've only seen it in screenshots and on Youtube videos and it does seems nice.

We call the left sidebar the Action bar while the Toolbar is located at the bottom. The typeface is Maven Pro.

Thanks for the info. From what I've read Nitrux is tentatively considering basing the applications on a combination of Qt and HTML. Although I'm sure those are some pretty early ideas, I was wondering what the structure of the software would be. Would HTML be a core part of the platform, or simply 'supported', similar to what Jolla and Ubuntu are doing?

You'll have to forgive my persistence- I really am curious about where this beautiful dream is headed.

We lean towards Qt for native-apps due it's performance, modularity and its usability whilst using HTML for its scalability and maintainability. native apps such as the file browser or music player don't necessarily need to have the HTML components while other such as a native Facebook app or other web related app would need integration with it.

It's not exactly a core part but it's an important component of the software.

Gotcha'. That makes sense, since they're both great with cross-platform compatibility, quick prototyping, and easy layouts engines. On the plus side, Qt is insanely performant even on non-Linux platforms, and it was built from the start with complex apps in mind (Autodesk Maya, for example). Not to mention it looks great in a variety of environments.

Anyway, I certainly look forward to further developments with .nitrux. I love it when people share these ideas.

Yeah, Qt makes great use of the widgets of whatever OS it's running on instead of trying to force its own and it's fast as you say.

Yeah, I'll make more mockups and/or improve them ones that I have uploaded.
