Description Lord Krishna’s brother, Balarama, sat despondent in his garden by the shore, silently weeping, drinking the last of his wine while contemplating upon Krishna’s death. As he fell into a stupor…His body shimmered and radiant light escaped his form, his essence transforming back into the multiple headed Serpent, Ananta Shesha! (who holds all the planets of the universe on his hoods and is constantly singing the glories of Vishnu from all his mouths)

As the Serpent looked  towards the waters beckoning him…Krishna’s beautiful  enchanted city, Dwaravati, that sat upon the ocean, sinks into the waters, never to be seen again, thus ending Lord Krishna’s time on Earth! As written in the Ancient Hindu  Book, “Mahabharata!”

Some side notes:
* Balarama is one of the oldest fertility Gods in Hinduism illustrated by the plowshare that is associated with him. He uses it as a weapon, as well as the warrior mace…which Balarama was well known for his prowess and skill with it! Both are represented in this painting
* Serpents are not always evil, but most times symbolizes wisdom and rebirth!
* Lord Vishnu rests upon Shesha at all times upon the Milky Ocean until he is called upon to restore Dharma!
