Aasimar can pretty much look however you want. The MM just gives a really basic description of them. Especially if you look through some of the older Planescape material they have all kinds of crazy traits, and are a very cool race. There's also feats in other D&D books (if memory serves Races of Faerun is one) with feats to gain wings as an aasimar.

I'd like to know how your Aasimar got wings. My MM only gives them crappy resistances and a couple minor stat-boosts.

all the npc ones have wings, just like npc teiflings get tails. It just sucks that they dont give you those without your own work into the character.
