Why did I draw this ? Well to honor the awesomeness that is Popeye the Sailorman www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvPs6A…Oh and By the Way , I watched the Popeye movie and ... it was pretty decent. It could have easily been a 5 stars movie if it were animated Fleischer since the writers clearly knew Segar's world ! It really needs a remake in 2-D animation ... www.youtube.com/watch?v=umFzek…

Well, they kind of already have. It was called "Popeye's Voyage: the Quest for Pappy", it came out in 2004, but was a direct-to-video computer animated 3D film. It was somewhat faithful to the original comic, but I think it takes a number of liberties nonetheless.

The movie's only strengths were that the actors were great and they looked like the characters. Other than that it was boring. I have yet to read Segar's strip but I'm hoping to get around to it. Great group drawing. Those are the hardest to do by you are great at them.

Nice work with the rendition of these classic savants of comedy, my friend. And I do feel that's a good point; it seemed to follow the formula well enough, but it just felt really awkwardly paced in person. Here's to hoping for the future, anyway.
