Description

In case you're asking, YES, we are on the verge of a new genesis, and I will be the creator ! You cannot imagine the good ideas one gets after binge-reading so many comic books !

This might surprise you but I am not really keen on having Albert returning... Why ? Because his demise was just SO GOOD ! It had a volcano, Rockets to the face, Catharsis and the boulder-punching CHRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS ! Thus let us celebrate the man who had the right to be a god with the proper eulogy www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjoVHG…

Wesker is one of the best combinations of wacky and terrifying when it comes to villains. Hugely entertaining and evil, and loving every second of it. He was also attached to a highly entertaining game and given an absolutely epic send off.Β

A great performance indeed ! That is how one goes from iconic to simply GREAT !

I don't think Capcom has any plans of bringing Wesker back outside of the Vs. series (and even that isn't likely to happen after the disaster that was Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite), so you have nothing to worry about.

MvC deserved to disappear ! I mean, all those years and no Gambit or Cable ? No Jubilee as support ? It deserves to be gone ! XD

I think it's safe to say every fighting game suffers from wasted potential. Regardless, I can't see another Vs. game being made thanks to Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite, or should I say MCU Vs. Capcom Infinite?

Also, Cable was disgustingly broken in Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 and it was glorious.

I think he took away his T-O virus for the game XD That's why he was broken !

Perhaps. I sadly haven't read too many Cable stories, so I don't know nearly as much about him as you do. I know he's the son of Cyclops and he's more than an generic 90s anti-hero like his detractors believe, but that's about it.

Well at leastΒ  you have an idea how Nathan is like, since you've read Fatal Attractions.

True, but it helps to be as familiar with the source material as possible in order to truly nail a character's voice. You've provided a lot of insight that I would missed otherwise, but somehow I still don't know enough about the heroes of the Marvel Universe or the DC Universe.

May I ask you man ? Do you intend to review House of X/Powers of X ? Cus honestly the whole thing feels less like X-men and more like "the day Onslaught won !" to me. ANd are Hickman's Avengers the same as his x-men ? Because honestly few really feel like characters (here, only Apocalypse and Exodus read like themselves...).

EternalCyclops In reply to devilkais [2019-10-07 17:11:35 +0000 UTC]

I'd have to get my hands on House of X/Powers of X before I can review them. Even then, my review skills are kind of lackluster. As to the latter question, keep in mind that my perspective on Marvel is different from yours and I can't really compare the two since I haven't read House of X/Powers of X, but I can say for certain that Hickman does a fantastic job writing the Avengers and the Illuminati in his run, as everyone is written perfectly in-character and behave exactly as they would in a story about the end of the multiverse.

Captain America is an old-fashioned hero who will not compromise his beliefs in the face of hopelessness. Iron Man is a heavily flawed and arrogant individual who nonetheless has his heart in the right place. Mr. Fantastic is a brilliant man who can come off as detached and uncaring at times, but is ultimately a good person who values his family above all else. Black Panther is someone whose greatest challenge is being a good king to Wakanda while also being a good man. Namor...is an asshole, no question, but he's also a pragmatist who considers himself a necessary evil. Sunspot is a guy who admittedly acts like a goofball at times, but knows when to stop joking around and take things seriously.

I could go on explaining how Hickman does a phenomenal job writing the heroes and villains of his Avengers run, but not only am I aware that you have a far better understanding of most of the characters featured in his Avengers run than I do, but there are also a LOT of characters to break down. I think the best way to hammer home why I consider Hickman's Avengers run to be on par with Marvel Zombies as one of the best comics I've ever read is to point to my Avengers-Verse fics. While I'm still in the process of getting it all written and uploaded to this site, the Avengers-Verse is heavily influenced by Jonathan Hickman's Avengers run in terms of scale and even features most of the heroes and villains featured in both Avengers and New Avengers as major characters.

Errr, I'd advise to read House Of X online. This is one of those things where you'd need to see before a purchasing decision (cus it's rather expensive !).
And no, I don't find your reviews lacklustre. Hell, if anything you're quite articulate and do not lose any train of thought ! You should do more of them, man !
About Iron Man, arrogance is kind of exagerated. The Old Stark was more of a foolhardy go-getter than arrogant (not too mention, altruistic to the point of self-destruction...)

Well, before I do any more reviews, I need to continue writing my Avengers-Verse fics. I have so many great storylines in the works and I've planned everything out in advance, but I absolutely suck when it comes to actually writing my stories. Hell, these should give you a vague idea of what I have in mind for the Avengers-Verse (which I still want you drawing the character redesigns I've created for it, by the way). Feel free to share your thoughts on the Avengers rosters on their respective comments section (and don't hesitate to question any roster choices I went with).

Also, regarding Tony Stark, my perspective is different from yours, although perhaps arrogant wasn't entirely the right word to use to describe Hickman's portrayal of the Armored Avenger. Stubborn might be a better word to describe Tony Stark.
