That's what part of me is thinking. It would be one thing if they made his skin tan, that I could see for when people are trying to translate traditional color palette into digital. But to make him white, when his skin is obviously dark...? Not cool ;-;

That's kinda like with my character Nico Guerrero who's Hispanic or like my automaton phonograph character Emile who has a black hand.
