Golden Mean Calipers. A valuable tool in any designer's kit.

These have came in handy, over the years. They were put together a decade ago, using materials that were at hand. 1/4" plywood, a few bolts and some wing nuts, forget about it.

So, it's fragile and not pretty to look at, yet the calipers yet give decent measurements...and save me the hassle of doing math all the time. And allows me to consider the math in a visual and hands-on way.

The intention was for these to be temporary--but they've been riding around in my truck, they've been in and out of my tool bucket, and in my art room-- for so long, somehow never getting destroyed.

I'll get some sheet metal and make a permanent set, one of these days. You betcha!
