awwwwwwwwwwww this is such a cool drawing!!!    
and if I may to the scene-I really think it was mostly a reaction of someone who 'doesn't sleep, barely eats' is too tired and desperate and on top of it has these two nephews with him and 'should take them into war?' so he's kind of seeking escape from it unwittingly. and Dwalin cos they know each other the whole life about knew what to say to him to get him 'back'... but I don't know-in the end-Thorin did 'what they wanted him to do' and what? it only brought him death and two killed 'boys'   the only mercy was he didn't know about Kili so he could die in peace
