What a whiplash from last episode...
This one starts with Jinxer seeing Bansheera regain her bodily form, by absorbing Vypra! That's a big deal.
Loki meanwhile gives Diabolico a spider with a jewel on it or something. He says it's for being his friend. I really like this scene, but it is odd that only now do we see some kind of friendship between them. Like Linkara said, "When did these two become buddy-buddy-buds?"
Queen Bansheera sends Loki out to fight the Rangers, when Jinxer questions why, Bansheera tells him Loki is expendable, like they all are. Jinxer takes this comment in stride, but Diabolico seems suspicious.
On a jog, Carter sees Jinxer go to the cave Olympius is in. He follows, shocked to find Olympius still alive.
The other Rangers face Loki. Diabolico joins just as Bansheera transports them to the Skull Cavern. She orders Loki to destroy the Rangers, Diabolico senses something wrong and warns against attacking. Loki is overehelmed, and Bansheera gives Diabolico an explosive weapon, telling him to fire. He refuses, Loki would be hurt as well. She forces him to fire, killing Loki. With his last words, Loki tells Diabolico that he only ever wanted to serve Bansheera, but he sees now she's no queen worth following. Diabolico then vows revenge on Bansheera. Bansheera traps the Rangers and Diabolico in flames.
Meanwhile, Carter battles Olympius, barely escaping. He finds the Rangers, but can't get to them. Diabolico tells him the only way to save them is to kill Bansheera. He fights his way through an army of Batlings, and faces the Queen. She says she has the other four Rangers captured, and if she destroys Carter there will be no one left to stop her. Except Ryan, the Galaxy Rangers, and by extension every Ranger and ally from every previous season.
She escapes the Megazord, and Olympius and Jinxer hear her cackling, and know she's alive. Diabolico plans on finding a way to destroy her.

This is one of my favorite Lightspeed episodes, it mainly focuses on the villains. That's pretty rare, especially now. The Rangers are the side characters and this is mainly Diabolico's story. The one oddity here is Vypra. No one seems to wonder where she is. When Loki talks to Diabolico at the beginning, he doesn't appear to know what happened to her. Diabolico never tries to find her.
I wish we could've seen more with Diabolico helping the Rangers, it would add sone more stakes and emotion to whats coming next.
The Rangerwiki trivia has some pretty strange notes.
It says Chad calls Loki "Logi". This feels extremely pedantic, even for Rangerwiki. It's like when they said TJ called the Turbo Lightning Sword a Turbo Lightning "Zord". Similar sounding letter pronunciations aren't allowed I guess.
There's an absolute word salad description of the scene where Bansheera forces Diabolico to fire at Loki.

Anyway, cool episode. Can't wait for what's to come!
