In his childhood days, Daylight lived a normal and happy life but later turned miserable as a result to being the youngest, meaning that was the literally runt of the litter; In other words, he was the "Omega" of the family. On the top of that, the entire family put him as a slave rather than being treated as a son and little brother of the family and he was even abused and fell victim to many storms that he even cried in his sleep. Completely out of faith and beaten down to the bone by trafficking and forced labor from his horrendous, vituperative family, he successfully escaped his nearly-devastated life. . .only to be forced himself as a stray by settling to a private orphanage, leaving no traces of where he was going.

Four weeks later after from his tearful leaving and long days staying in the orphanage, Ashton and Caitlyn Cato, a snow leopard couple who is a Master Sergeant and an Intelligence Officer respectfully of the Riverfang Force, an airborne military organization, saw Daylight as a child of pity and a traumatic victim of inexcusable abuses brought from his family, but despite of their different species, the couple adopted him as one of their own - it made the wolf pup's life normal and happy as he was treated with proper care, full of love and soothing satisfaction. Years later after the adoption, while he is growing up in a military base alongside with his adoptive family, Dexter is welcomed by the military and he walked through a busy life and endless lessons of military tactics, with the exception of Physics, Laws, and Physical Education. Nevertheless, Ashton and Caitlyn couldn't never been this proud to see the wolf growing up and along the way with a respective evaluation from the higher ups, he is a force to be reckoned with while he kept his training under pressure.

While growing up, he is a tragic hero who is quite melancholic and phlegmatic but would never refuse his parents to abandon him despite he is an independent wolf without a pack and because that he was hardened yet "strangled" by many things around him, Dexter has a strong degree of paranoia, and he would often trust no one but himself and a few who would support him along the way. However, not only he is a tragic hero who had little desires but was only left with used-to-bes and a shattered past that continued to haunt him while he is living in the present.
